EROSION PROCESSES IN ACTIVE MOUNTAIN BELTS

My interest is the understanding of the mechanisms of mountain erosion. In this context, my PhD work (at the IPGP, France) was a study of sediment transport in braided rivers using analog experiments. The aim was to understand how sediment transport can be related to complex morphologies (such as braiding or terrace levels). Shifting from fluvial erosion to hillslope erosion, I now study the triggering of landslides by Earthquakes and the channel-hillslope coupling in landscapes dominated by landsliding.
